Crayon Art

Most classrooms have a used crayon bin. These old crayons have been cast aside because they are broken, worn down, or just not a popular color. I see great possibilities with these old crayons. One way I use old crayons is by melting them down with a heat gun. This year I have encouraged my students to try different layouts with the crayons and experiment more with color choices.

Summer Arts 2016

For the past few weeks I have been teaching art at Hoff-Barthelson Summer Arts Program in Scarsdale, NY. Each summer is unique. I never know what to expect before I meet my new students. I plan the art projects thoughtfully and make sure I have the best quality art materials for the children to use. I work hard to create a classroom environment that is friendly, fun and nurturing so that the children feel comfortable expressing themselves creatively. This summer has been exceptional. I have been particularly impressed by the children's attention to detail and overall hard work. Enjoy!
