Recently I taught my students how to create Soft Sculptures (also called "paper stuffings" or "paper sculptures"). Students quickly came up with their ideas: an owl, a girl, a pumpkin, a spaceship, a sword, the planet and a football. Students brought their ideas to life using brown butcher paper, staples and newspaper strips for stuffing. Paint helped to add more detail. It was exciting to watch the children turn ordinary materials into realistic looking 3-D objects.
